We have all seen the pictures of flight 1549 that landed in the Hudson River after taking off from LaQuardia. Some of you may have even heard the air traffic controllers audio. There is now a YouTube animation that combines the audio with the projected flight path so you can see how it all played out in real time.
Very impressive.

If you’ve got a bunch of time, a beard, and lots of toothpicks, you can do what this guy did…
New Craigslist Scam
Posted on | February 11, 2009 | No Comments
This scam is a variation on the “send me your bank information” phishing scam.
What you’ll find is a job posting for some position that looks very legitimate. When you e-mail the poster that you are interested, they then e-mail you a “job application” that also looks pretty real. The exception is that the application requires you to enter your credit scores from each of the three major reporting bureaus. (that should set off alarm bells for most people). In an effort of being helpful, it says in the application that if you need help getting your credit scores to go to a particular website.
The website also looks professional, but it is nothing more than a phishing site to get your personal information.
I know you’ve heard it before, but never give out personal information online. Also remember that employers don’t need you to provide your credit scores, they can get it themselves by running a credit check on you.
By the way, when you do a domain search on both the e-mail address of the “employer” and the domain name of the credit score website, they are both registered to the same person…. Hmmmm
Media Bias

The best example of media and left wing bias is to compare the coverage of two similar events that involve both parties. For example, consider the inauguration of Pres-elect Obama to the inauguration of Pres. George W. Bush 4 years ago.
From this article in Salon.com by Eric Boehlert just four years ago, we read …
For the media, simply reporting on the cost of the inauguration proved to be a challenge. Most major outlets stuck to the lower, albeit still unprecedented, figure of $40 million, which the Presidential Inaugural Committee said it hopes to raise from private donors. But a more accurate figure may be $50 million. That’s the amount cited by the Washington Times (which is plugged in to GOP circles). But even that number doesn’t take into account the nearly $20 million that’s being spent for security, putting the real cost at closer to $70 million, instead of the media’s preferred $40 million.
Has anyone out there heard a news story complaining about the cost of this years inauguration? Hmm, neither have I. In fact, according to the Washington Times, the price of security is so high, that President Bush had to declare Washington DC a disaster area just to get enough money to provide security.
What about the cost, you ask? Well, in an article by the London Daily Mail, the cost of the inauguration this year will be over $160 million dollars. That’s 4 times the cost of President Bush’s inauguration.
Hey Eric Boehlert from Salon.com. Any problems with the cost this year?
Didn’t think so.
