Herding sheep with a twist (a big one)

Posted on | March 18, 2009 | 4 Comments

Many of you know that I grew up on a farm. The primary divisions of work on the farm was sheep and alfalfa hay. So I spent many hours of my youth herding sheep. I would have never dreamed of this. See the video below.

every year during ‘ sheep days’ they have dog trials. People come from all over the country to compete. The dogs have to run about 5 sheep through a course. Their owners have to stand in one place and direct them with a whistle. It is really amazing. So I can believe this video.

I am totally amazed. I wish we could have had that much control over the sheep we herded!!!
